And the beat goes on. Woohoo!

Trick or Treating -- Glitter Style!

And now, the THURSDAY THIRTEEN! This week, let’s talk about 13 GREAT SCARY TV SHOWS!. I’m a HUGE TV geek, and my favorite shows are usually dark and scary. (I haven’t watched the season premiere of American Horror Story yet, so don’t spoil me in the comments! LOL) Here are 13 small screen shows that provide/provided great scares!

Scary TV

1. Buffy the Vampire Slayer

2. Angel

3. Fear, Itself

4. Hunger

5. American Horror Story

6. Supernatural

7. Grimm

8. True Blood

9. Tales from the Crypt

10. Vampire Diaries (there have been some good scares! It’s not all sexy vampires and werewolves, you know!)

11. Teen Wolf — It’s WAY more than a cool teen show. It’s actually REALLY scary!

12. The Hitchhiker — Not even close to as terrifying as the original movie, but some great scares back when I was a kid!

13. Tales from the Dark Side — another one I LOVED when I was a kid!

Honorable Mention:
X-Files
The Twilight Zone

I know I left off The Walking Dead, and there’s a good reason for that: I’ve only watched a few episodes. The show, and zombies in general, are more gruesome than scary for me. I got to a certain point in The Walking Dead where Something Really Gross happened, and I was like, “Okay, this is not scary, this is just Really Gross,” and I haven’t watched any more.

    • I had to look the episode up, it’s been so long, but OMG! I remember how creepy that was! Remember on my scary character lists a few Thursdays back, creepy inbred rednecks were on my list, I believe!

Early X Files had a lot of great, scary/creepy episodes! Honestly, I sort of lost track in the end seasons.

    • Thanks! There are actually a few scary shows from the 60’s and 70’s that I DID leave off, but since TZ has some of the biggest classic scary moments in TV/Movie history, there’s no way I could miss that one! 🙂

      Thank you for stopping by!

    • YES! *high fives* Buffy and Angel are my all-time favorite shows! Hush ruled, and there were lots of other creepy and creepy/funny moments throughout the series. Part of what made it such a great show were the emotional heights and depths it reached for and acheived!

      Thank you for coming by!

    • It’s AWESOME, and it’s on ABC Family. (I was shocked about both of those too!) Keep in mind it’s COMPLETELY different than the 80’s movie — it’s more horror than comedy, but I love it.

    • I should have thought of that! LOL! But then again, this way I get LOTS MORE HALLOWEEN STUFF!

I forgot Outer Limits! There are a lot of great series from the 60’s and 70’s that I didn’t put on the list that are definite classics!

      Thank you for stopping by!

    • I actually don’t have cable either — I depend a lot on online sources. I’m a TOTAL Netflix addict! In fact, I saw Fear, Itself and The Hunger on Neflix initially.

Nothing can every beat Buffy and Angel. They were just in a class by themselves.
