Every writer has them: those drawers full of bits and pieces, half-written manuscripts, great (or maybe not so great) ideas… things that just never got finished.
Do you ever go back to them? Is it a good idea to do so? Has the spirit that made you start them died to the point that you could never bring it back again? Should you try to conjure up a new one?
Remember I talked last year (or maybe even the year before) about my PNR, THE VALKYRIE AND THE VAMPIRE (working title)? Well, it had been all but finished, and I’m wondering if maybe I should pull it out and give it a whack. It can propel a series, and I’d love to do that.
What do you think? Take up the old baby and see if she can grow, or keep moving on with the next?
On that note, all of this was brought up because this manuscript was inspired by one of my first and still most awesome publishers, Freya’s Bower (hence the Valkyrie). They published one of my first works, a pair of steamy vampire stories called SWORD OF REGRET. I can’t help but bring those stories out to those of you who might not have seen them or had a chance to read them before. Good old fashioned vampire smut at a great price! (And a quick, hot read for that moment you have to yourself.)
